At HUBitual Learning and Outreach, we are committed to positively impacting our community while fostering collaboration, empowerment, and environmental stewardship.

What We Do:

HUBLO supports our community's youth, unhoused individuals, the local environment, and wildlife. Our approach is comprehensive and begins with careful assessments and planning.

By working closely with local community members and leaders and collaborating with professionals in relevant fields, we aim to bridge traditional knowledge with Western science.

Each project undergoes a thorough Community Assessment to ensure its feasibility, followed by Strategic Planning, Resource Acquisition, and Project Initiation. Our projects align with one or more of our focus areas:

Initiatives include cleaning up illegal dumpsites, organizing community litter clean-up drives, and implementing IQAir monitoring systems for air quality and water protection initiatives.
This involves engaging elders and local artisans in craft circles and creating murals that reflect our project themes and objectives.
Our activities here include distributing hygiene products and snacks and operating a shower trailer to support the unhoused population.
Participants in this program play an active role in project management and execution, gaining valuable skills and experience.

Founder and Executive Director
I’m a community member of Navajo Nation. The reason I created HUBLO, was to create a space where we can build our own infrastructure and implement sustainable avenues to thrive. I’ve always felt it important to uplift my own community.
Monique Nakai

Co-Founder and Program Director
I assist in creating, programming, executing the events, and gathering data that can be used to improve our non-profit resources. Within HUBLO, our plan is to create various programs to engage the community through expression through the arts, environmental stewardship, and mutual aid to ensure a well rounded outlook on our projects.
Alexandir Nakai

Operations and Program Manager
I develop and oversee the infrastructural strategy for each of our project initiatives, to ensure we are meeting stakeholder expectations through community representation of HUBLO in meetings, workshops, and community events.
